How can i access my wireless internet connection on my sony laptop?

I got a Vizio wireless router. It work just fine in all devices like video game systems and television and different laptops except for my Sony laptop and HP laptop but works in other laptops made by these same companies. It works fine when i connect it to the an ethereal cable to the back of the wireless router but not when i try to use it wireless.
