What is the best Home Network Router?

I am visiting India shortly. I plan to subscribe for high speed Internet (DSL) from BSNL or AIRTEL. I want to get a high speed Router, may be the latest "N" type if available in India. If I buy a Router in USA, will it work In India ? How much a Router costs in India ? Please answer with details. Thanks.
