Why wont my internet connect?

Ok so my Ethernet cord is connected and it still wont connect to Firefox or e internet but my Xbox live works and my brothers laptop works fine even though he is on WiFi from our router. I tried to go to network config. and when I click on it nothing comes up. I have Norton antivirus if that helps maybe it is is fire walling the internet idk. Please help thanks
